Exciting developments in the Danish maritime sector! The LSP Ship Factory project, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark and lead by SDU in collaboration with Danish maritime companies, aims to revolutionize ship manufacturing by integrating robotics and AI for automated operations. By introducing a cell-based production concept, the project enhances efficiency, quality control, and creates safer and more attractive workplaces, all while addressing the challenges of global competition and workforce shortages.
This innovation at the SDU Center for Large Structure Production (LSP) paves the way for the future of ship manufacturing and shipbuilding, and is important for building up agile and resilient industrial defence capabilities.
The LSP Center and project is well underway in Odense in Denmark and the LSP robot cell is ready for commissioning this summer.
