Experience from the marine industry is not a requirement; however, you have ambitions, a high level of professionalism, and a strong commitment that will enable you to develop over a short period of time to cover the necessary electrical design competencies at OMT.
You will be part of the electrical and automation department which consists of colleagues and external consultants. OMT’s task portfolio ranges widely from small, limited retrofit and conversion projects to the design and planning of naval vessels, ferries, and merchant ships.

Specification, calculation and one-line diagrams of generator and distribution systems
Voltage drop calculations
Short-circuit and selectivity analysis
Electrical installations in hazardous and explosive areas
Electrical and interface design for automation, navigation, communication, and auxiliary systems in ships
Preparation of technical contract and construction specifications
Definition of design philosophies, standards and installation policies
Cooperation and negotiations with system suppliers

Participation in cross-functional teams with colleagues from other disciplines
Expectations of your
professional and personal qualifications
You hold a degree as Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering, or electrical engineer “El-installatør” and, preferably, have experience in designing and specifying complex electrical systems – either from ship design, industry, utility companies or from an equipment supplier.
Personally, it is important that you thrive in a dynamic environment where you are constantly faced with new challenges and daily decisions which often involve compromises. Of course, these can never compromise integrity, quality, and safety.
